Mas Freight is part of a family-run business that has been working in the transportation industry since 1982. This wealth of experience and expertise led to the founding of Mas Freight in 2005 – a company that, in the years since, has established itself as a first-class freight and logistics provider across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi.
Our fleet of 25 modern and well-maintained trucks are capable of transporting general, containerised and hazardous goods across the manufacturing, mining, agriculture and fast-moving consumer goods sectors. We own and run all the vehicles we use, which grants us full control over our operations and the services we provide. Our trucks are also fitted with live satellite tracking systems that are monitored 24 hours a day.

Team Mas Freight
We are defined by our experienced, friendly and reliable team, approximately a quarter of whom belong to the family behind Mas Freight and who are experts in their respective fields. Many members of our team have been with the family business for between 10 and 20 years, and are familiar with the levels of excellence to which we hold ourselves. It’s through our team that we build long-term relationships with our clients, relationships that are founded on mutual trust and respect.
Our directors adopt a hands-on approach; our operational staff are skilled in providing the best possible transport solution; and our drivers are brilliantly capable, expertly trained and highly experienced. Our drivers are carefully selected not only for their skills behind the wheel, but also for their exceptional customer service abilities. We understand that, in their interactions with your clients, suppliers and partners, they are not only representing Mas Freight, but your business as well. Their professionalism is therefore critical.
All of our drivers are also fully trained and certified to carry hazardous cargo and have a detailed understanding of the legislation that informs this type of transportation. They also receive regular training on legislative compliance and safety awareness to ensure their knowledge and skills are up to date.
Today, our service offering has evolved to include the transportation of both general and containerised cargo, as well as hazardous cargo, across a range of industries.
General cargo
General cargo refers to any non-hazardous goods – goods that do not demand any requirements to be met before they are transported. Animal feed, plastic granules, scaffolding, bond paper, empty bottles and cans, cotton lint, steel and tiles are just some of the goods we transport as general cargo.
Containerised cargo
Most of our trailers are fitted with twist-locks to carry both 20-foot and 40-foot containers. We transport full containers to any of our key destinations and transport empty containers back to the shipping line designated location.
Hazardous cargo
Our drivers and vehicles are fully equipped to transport break bulk hazardous chemicals packaged in flowbins, polycans, drums, bulk bags and palletised cargo according to the highest safety standards. All our drivers undergo annual hazchem training and have dangerous goods permits in hand. Our vehicles are equipped with appropriate signage, fire extinguishers, isolator switches and dangerous goods licenses.
Remover in bond
We are registered to transport bonded goods across South Africa’s borders.
Customs clearing
We offer border customs documentation through our partner clearing agents to facilitate fast border clearances.
